Re: Chinese club bid £38M for Payet
Yea maybe every player has his price but you can't make him leave especially for China.

Actually the invincibles season was post Anelka and Overmars.

Yeah every player has his price but even in PD's examples, despite the fees you would struggle to argue those clubs have improved with the money to spend.

Kind of proved my point.....man Utd were dominating the prem and the won champions sold they're best player and look at them now
The goon were winning titles and seriously challenging for the champions league before selling their best player Henry
And as for Liverpool.....nuff said

I think the only clubs that don't have their price for first choice players are Barcelona and Real Madrid, pretty much because if you are there then why on earth would a player want to go elsewhere anyway.

Re: Chinese club bid £38M for Payet
Norf - Fair enough. Selling your best players rarely works out for the best, but at the same time I also believe that every player has their price. Liverpool sold Suarez, Man Utd sold Ronaldo, Arsenal have sold plenty over recent years, not exactly small time clubs. I think he'll stay anyway.

No not a chance......clubs our size sign players like this once in a blue moon....we could have 176million and Id happily wager we wouldn't get anyone anywhere near as good as him

Small club mentality......imo we're a quality centre forward that can stay fit and a quality wide man short of properly challenging for the top four.

If you sell your best players what does that say to any top player we're trying to sign........it tells them we're small time

Re: Chinese club bid £38M for Payet
Ramires went here for £25m

By that reckoning, Payet is worth at least £100m!

Re: Chinese club bid £38M for Payet
To be fair, if this all was to get him an increase in wages, he quite rightly deserves to be earning more than our highest earner (Carroll).

Payet should be on 3 times what Carroll is on with the amount he has contributed in comparison!

Is 28 old?! 28 is often a footballers prime. He could have up to 4 good seasons left in him.

Re: Chinese club bid £38M for Payet
Seems to be very up and down - he's not worth £38m so would be very tempting.

His song's getting absolutely sung to death as well so aybe a good time to go ;-)

Re: Chinese club bid £38M for Payet
We could accept the bid, but I do believe Payet loves the club, he knows he can become a legend within a team that's stock is rising.

Can't see thim leaving so soon after signing with us.

Re: Chinese club bid £38M for Payet
I don't want to see him go, but every player has a price. £50m would be too much to turn down, for me.
